Giles Godwin grew up in West London. He made his first photographic project at the age of 10, taking pictures in his neighbourhood of the derelict Victorian houses that were being knocked down to make way for new housing estates.

In the early 80’s Giles studied Fine Art at Middlesex Polytechnic - where he started a project on the dynamics of family life using photography and film, a theme that he has continued to explore throughout his career.

Giles regularly exhibits his photographs in London galleries, and does
commercial work for newspapers and magazines.
